Position Summary
The Installation Technician is responsible for the installation of Flow Control Systems for various municipal, industrial, storm and sewer line rehab and repair projects.

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities include the following:



  •  Hands on approach to completing tasks

  • Work effectively to complete equipment setup

  • Gain working knowledge of pumps and bypass system for everyday operations

  • During bypass operation, expected to monitor the system and address any issues that may arise

  • Confined space entry required.

  • Learn/train on Insituform’s products, processes, safety procedures, installation techniques and us of equipment.

  • Travel –Regional and National travel for potential long/short term projects

  • Drive various vehicles and construction equipment.

  • Preferred:  HDPE pipe fusion knowledge, Fusion machine operation experience

  • Preferred:  Pump/pumping system knowledge

  • General mechanical knowledge/skill

  • Should be familiar with general construction hand tools and power tools

  • Is ready to take on new challenges and is willing to learn

  • Capable of working with minimal oversite but willing to follow instructions closely.

  • Perform set up and clean up tasks at jobsite/shop.

  • Other tasks, as assigned.


Qualification Requirements

Education and/or Experience:  



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience as a Construction Laborer and /or Installation Technician highly preferred. OSHA certifications are a plus.

  • License Requirement: A valid driver’s license required with clean motor vehicle report.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately.

  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Physical Demands: In the performance of duties for this position, the employee is: regularly required to sit (while driving), talk, and hear without visual controls; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, grip, or feel objects, tools or controls, repetitive motion, required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, stretch, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, steps and narrow passages, walk uneven surfaces and wear appropriate personal protective equipment; balance, and taste or smell; regularly lift, push, pull and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to use pneumatic, battery powered or electric tools. Must have ability to wear respirator and body harness while entering confined spaces. Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability for extended concentration. Must be able to enter confined spaces and comply with safety policies.

  • Work Environment: In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in outside weather conditions (at job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by automobile and airplane required.
