Position Overview: Airgas Red-D-Arc is hiring a Painter/Laborer based out of our Houston, TX branch. Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the incumbent is responsible for all paint restoration of welding equipment.

Essential Functions



  • Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines. 

  • Mixes and applies multipart paints.

  • Prepares surfaces using manual and power sanding tools to remove rust, grease, dirt, concrete and old paint prior to paint application.

  • Reads work orders or receive instructions from Shop Supervisor to determine work requirements.

  • Applies paint using air type and airless equipment in spray booth operation.

  • Follows and maintains manufacture quality standards.

  • Ensures all equipment used is cleaned properly.

  • Repairs, refurbishes, and conducts preventative maintenance on all Electric and Engine Drives.

  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack or other necessary equipment to stock required parts in the shop.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education



  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.


Experience



  • Five years working knowledge of paint booth operation; automotive painting preferred. 

  • 1+ years of experience troubleshooting equipment.
